I always imagined Kristen as the most competent and mentally healthy of the main cast. Oddly enough. 3. Kristen very nearly managed to escape Daldain with a good friend two years before she met Cliff, but unfortunately that friend was unreliable and flighty. Ultimately, between the distance and Kristen's resentment, their friendship didn't survive, and Kris is much warier of who she trusts. 4. Kristen thinks of marriage mostly as a sort of hollow business arrangement, and Cliff really has to work to get her to agree to marrying him. She never quite understands what it means to Cliff when she says yes.
